Simple Guide for Staffs

If you are previously HKUST students
From now on, your staff ID will be the same as the student ID, however, the last digit will contain an bracket. For example, if your student ID is 12345678, your staff ID will be 1234567(8).
Moreover, if you have an MPF account previously in HKUST (HKUST might open an MPF account for you if you have been a student helper), FO (Financial Office) will continue to use that account. Please check if you have the MPF record after around 20 days of payday. If you receive no MPF record, please find FO directly through inline.
Handy app

HKUST Staff
A very useful app. Contains your staff card barcorde (Handful if you have booked facilities), HKUST QR code (Opening the door, enter library, …), and some other handy function like leave application, meal ordering, gym booking and path advisor.

Microsoft Authenicators
If you have 2FA enabled on your account, then this app will be helpful to approve the login requests.
Payday

You will receive your salary on this day in the morning. If you joined HKUST before the Cut-off Date, you will receive salary in the same month, otherwise you will receive them in the next month.
Leaves
In HKUST, you are at least entitled to enjoy annual leaves and sick leaves. All these leaves need to apply through the leave application system (Available as webpage and in HKUST Staff app). Fill in all the informations. The person who will approve the leave is usually your senior. Consult other staffs in your office for more information.
Medical Benefits
If you are entitled to this benefit, every time you go to the clinics in the network, you only need to pay $15 dollar. To enjoy the benefit, you should have your gold card ready (Available as e-card). For UST clinics, you should also have your staff card (Physical version only) ready. You will also enjoy the dental benefits, including teeth scaling twice per year and more. For more details please refer to the official website.
Staff Association
I suggest you to join staff association. Every year you only need to pay $30 (Deducted during July), but the benefit they provided is more than $30. Internal Mails
We got something special called internal mails. It is a mail systems within UST that allows delivery across campus offices. Ask for your senior staffs about this.
